Hickory Ridge Homestead museum log cabins are located on the grounds of the "Horn in the West", in Boone NC. The museum shows what it was like for the mountain settlers, and how they lived in rustic log cabins.
This is an 18th century living history museum highlighting the lives of the original mountain settlers to the Southern Appalachian Mountains of Western North Carolina.

The rustic log cabin furnishings were very sparse, but the family was diverse in religion, humor and self sufficiency. Early mountain settlers learned crafts and skills by doing and watching others perform them.
The log cabin museum is open weekends in the spring and fall.
